As diapering parents, we look for easy solutions to moisture and odor. Wool takes care of both and more.
We like wool for diaper covers because they balance wool properties of water repellency, moisture absorbency, and breathability.
The wool we use for our puddle pads and changing mats is different. We make our pads from a thick, woven wool fabric that has been fulled and fluffed to give you a lofty moisture barrier as a changing mat for your diaper changing table, for a puddle pad for potty training toddlers, or as a wool mattress pad for older children just in case.
We think wool is perfect for diaper covers, but we knew a changing mat required tougher wool that could be washed with the bedding. We love our thick wool so much that we want to tell you all about it—in great detail!
You’ve probably heard that wool is hypoallergenic (hypo = less than normal), that it both absorbs and repels moisture, that it is fire resistant. We know that our customers want to know HOW and WHY wool has all of these useful properties, so we’ve scoured the research for you.
We know that you want to know what wool does for you. Each of the pages linked below tells you part of the story of why wool is perfect for puddle pads.
