Fuzbaby Gallery: First Sales and Auctions
Late 2000 - Early 2001
Our first organic cotton diapers were colorgrown, woven cotton. The trim was a striped, giving the diapers a beautiful finished look.
The inner layer was a thick woven organic terry. Wow, was that ever thick. This is a whole-day-out diaper, if it would even fit on a real baby. The thickness made it nearly impossible to bind. What a monster. I still have these diapers on a shelf in my workshop because I'm afraid they won't hold up to washing. I didn't even try them on my own baby.
Still, we photographed them because they are some of the most striking diapers we made. (I always say "we" not in the sense of the royal "we" but in the sense that Marc did much of the work, whether sourcing, cutting, washing or later dyeing. Anything from Fuzbaby is from us together.)

Before Auctions were Gifts
This wool diaper cover and watermelon diaper live in New Zealand with our cousin, where she used this wool "overnap" over her flat nappies. The watermelon diaper obsession began with a set we watched on auction in late 1999. It took my hormonal breath away. I continued to make watermelon diapers.

Local Sales: Cool Print and Knit Terry Diaper
In one of the early monstrous fabric co-ops, I bought an obscene about of unbleached cotton knit terry. Wow, that fabric was soft. This was the inside of Refuz diapers for a year until I finally ran out.
I sold a few cloth diapers locally in before I dared sell online. I was so cautious!

Auction: Reclaimed Materials
Refuz are already bright. This special edition was a splash for our big opening auction.
Notice the cabling artfully angled across the tabs on the cover. Knit refuzbomb covers are nice and stretchy. They give a comfortable fit even longer than regular fuzbombs. They were so nice, we made two sets.

Batik & Fuzbomb Set
Cushy diaper. Looks nice. It's just two of a kind. Why cover it up?
Fuzbomb, light like a feather--well, a sheep feather. Maybe light like a tuft of wool caught on a fence. It's lightweight, anyway, and fits better than any flatbed scanner can begin to imagine.

Fuzbaby organic cotton fitted diaper
Those who don't know the Diaper Underground couldn't begin to understand that this is simply a diaper. Why do they insist diapers are big, flat squares?

And don't you think of covering this up, unless you use a formal black fuzbomb. We liked that so well that we made an extra to spread the love.
